Who's behind this

Mikko Juhani

Mikko Juhani

Mikko spent over two decades in luxury hospitality, including at The Goring, London's last remaining family-owned hotel, a Royal Warrant holder and Forbes Five-Star property, where he oversaw the Michelin-starred restaurant, room service and private dining.

He went on to lead restaurant operations for Alain Ducasse in partnership with Qatar's Royal Family, and worked at Pierre Gagnaire's three-Michelin-starred Sketch in Mayfair.

Dominic Kamara

Dominic Kamara

Dominic has built and scaled businesses across property and catering, including a nationwide film and TV catering company whose clients have included Netflix, Disney, Marvel and the BBC.

The Colville Edit. is run by Mikko Juhani and Dominic Kamara.

Together they run a small, hands-on collection of private apartments across west London. Nothing about how we work is templated. Someone answers the phone. Someone checks the flat before you arrive. Someone is there if anything needs sorting while you stay.

We're selective about the homes we take on and who stays in them. If that sounds like the kind of stay you're after, get in touch.

Neighbourhoods

Notting Hill

There are eight Michelin stars within a seven-minute walk. Not that you'll need all of them at once, but it tells you something about the neighbourhood you're staying in.

This is the Notting Hill that still runs on Portobello Road market on a Saturday morning, on antiques stalls that have traded here for generations, and on Westbourne Grove, arguably the most interesting shopping street in London, lined with independent boutiques that have resisted the arrival of every high street chain that's tried.

You could stay a fortnight and genuinely never need to leave the postcode.

Eat & drink

Core by Clare Smyth and The Ledbury, both three Michelin stars. Dorian and Caractère, one star each. Fan, Michelin-recommended Nikkei. For an evening out that doesn't need a booking made weeks in advance, Gold, Zephyr and Wild all sit on or just off Portobello Road and Westbourne Grove.

For something quieter: Sumi and Eel Sushi for proper Japanese cooking, Dove for Jackson Boxer's seasonal bistro plates, and Canteen, a Bib Gourmand worth queuing for.

For the evenings that run late: The Cock & Bottle, the kind of pub that becomes part of your routine simply because you keep going back. The Cow for Guinness and oysters. The Fat Badger and The Pelican for something livelier. Naked & Famous for cocktails once dinner's finished.

Portobello, the market and the boutiques

Portobello Road itself, world-famous for its antiques market on Saturdays, runs through the heart of the neighbourhood. Westbourne Grove and the streets around Elgin Crescent hold some of London's best independent boutiques — Aimé, Sézane, Reformation, Caramel — alongside proper local wine merchants and florists that have nothing to do with a supply chain. The Electric Cinema, one of the oldest working cinemas in the country, sits right in the middle of it.

Wellness

Cloud Twelve, a spa and wellness club on Colville Mews. Body Works West, a boutique health club with a gym, pool and spa. Third Space at The Whiteley and Virgin Active, both close by, for anyone who wants to keep a routine going while they're here.

Getting around

Ladbroke Grove station, 8 minutes on foot. Notting Hill Gate, 10 minutes. Westbourne Park, 9 minutes. Paddington and the Elizabeth Line, a short taxi, with the Heathrow Express from there.

FAQs

Good to know

How do you take bookings? +
Directly through this site, or by phone or email if you'd rather speak to someone first.
What's the minimum stay? +
Whether you're planning a two-week work stint or relocating for three months, our homes are built for the longer stay. Book for two weeks, extend to six months if you need to. For anything shorter, get in touch and we'll let you know what's possible.
Is there a deposit? +
Yes. Details are confirmed at the point of booking, and returned promptly after checkout, subject to the home being left as found.
Who do I contact if something needs sorting during my stay? +
You'll have a direct line to us, not a call centre. Most things are dealt with the same day.
Do you work with companies and relocation agents? +
Yes, and we're used to setting up stays on that basis directly. Get in touch to discuss.
